I also have 7 farms and the pyramid as a wonder and I managed to squeeze those inside, I only have a couple of sniping towers and a garrison outside the walls mostly to fill in blank space where enemy troops would be able to deploy, and other than that I have my town center inside the walls with an added bonus of it being able to launch arrows since it's Japanese. Personally I just have a no-nonsense giant rectangle of wall around my most important buildings that I mentioned. Also when placing your buildings either outside or inside the wall you'd want to place one non-defensive building (houses, blacksmith, war academy, etc.) next to a defensive building and alternate so that attacking troops can get distracted by those buildings when they're trying to get to your defenses. It depends on your wonders and nation as well as how much land you have cleared, but rule of thumb is prioritize your markets and mills, as well as your storehouse.
